Question:

Extra 10-20 kg on flight from New Zealand to S.Korea.?

I'm flying on Singapore airlines, and the usual baggage allowance from New Zealand is 20kg. That will only fit my summer clothes, and I'll have to send my winter clothes by mail or try to get some cargo space on the plane.

Any suggestions?

  1. If you are travelling on a work visa of some sort then ring Singapore Airlines. They often allow an extra allowance for people travelling long term but you do need to arrange this in advance. Just remember also, that if you have a flight after you arrive in South Korea and is a non Singapore Airline flight you may have to pay extra for luggage then.

2 bags are just for flights operating through, to, or from the USA and Canada. For everyone else it is generally operated on a kg limit rather than the piece system.

  2. its 20kgs in one bag.

I think that you are allowed to check up to 32kg's of baggage in a maximum of 2 bags (for free)

dont hold me agaisnt this, but I think that's the rule....if your winter clothes weigh less than 12 kgs, then you should be fine!

and dont forget that if you still have excess, you can pay for extra weight...but its very expensive!!!! ($7 a kilo!)
