Extra Curricular activities question?

Hi,

My dream career is becoming a doctor. I want to go to a really good school, with a medical program. Preferably, Tufts University. My guidance counselor told me to find something I am really good at, and to work at getting better at it. I am not really into sports because I am not aloud, due to a spinal issue. I am dedicated to three clubs, National Honor Society, Math Club, and Habitat for Humanity. I am very driven to the medical field, and recently finished a summer program at a well-known hospital. I can only participate in medical programs run in the summer, due to my academic schedule.

Do you think this is enough extra curricular activities to get into a top college?

Thanks for answering!

    2. GPA should atleast be a 3.7

    4. Do good in science, health, and math

    5. volunteer at a hospital,nursing home

    6. read, or watch documentaries dealing with medical assistance

    7. DO NOT GET IN ANY SORT OF TROUBLE, drugs, etc because it can ruin your school chances

    8. talk to doctors and medical teachers about advice

remember that your grades and volunteering, ect... is a reflection of you as a person and colleges want a fully rounded person.

  2. Yes -- it is enough.  Extracurriculars are important to have.  But the truth is that they are easy to pad and hard to verify -- so schools don't rely on them as much as people think.  Your GPA, SATs, Admissions Essay and the quality of your HS are much more important factors than your extracurriculars.
