My Mozilla Firefox has suddenly decided to stop working.

Facts:

After trying to open Firefox, I went to Task Manager, where under applications, there was nothing running. HOWEVER, under the Processes, a firefox file was found. I was completely unable to delete the file.

I have tried:

a. reinstalling Firefox

b. upgrading Firefox through another browser

I would be extremely grateful if anybody could help me with this problem.

THANK YOU!

  1. Uninstall it from add/remove programs then do a search for firefox and delete all remainding files/ Download the version of firefox that you want and install it.

  2. I'm not sure from your description if this happens often, or if this was a one-time occurrence.  If the latter, I would just keep using Firefox.  I've seen it hang around longer after I "closed" it than I would have expected, but it did eventually quit or I was able to kill the process.

    Hope that helps.

  3. Un-install firefox first, then go to getfirefox.com to get the latest version

  4. what version of firefox are you using?

    [edit]

    remove 2.0 and install 3.0.1
