Extreme Sailing Series 2011 heads to region of Andalucia in Almeria, Spain for Act 8 – Sailing news
World’s top 11 Extreme 40 yachts will be gathered at the region of Andalucia in Almeria, Spain, to race in the 2011 Extreme Sailing Series Act 8, the penultimate act of 2011 Extreme Sailing season. The event will commence from October 12-16 in Spain and
will feature an 11-boat Extreme 40 fleet on Almeria waters followed by the final event of the circuit in Singapore.
Almeria will be providing Extreme 40 sailors with fascinating weather conditions for a superb sailing experience. The event will be full of thrill, intense competition and nail biting races. The Extreme Race Village has been established right in the city’s
heart at the Port of Almeria.
As far as current statistics of the 2011 Extreme Sailing Series are concerned, France’s Groupe Edmond Rothschild skippered by Pierre Pennec is on top of the circuit standings with 61 points after seven acts. The French team crew comprising of Pierre Pennec,
Christophe Espagnon, Thierry Fouchier and Hervé Cunningham will be looking forward to retain the leader board position.
The overall standings of Extreme Sailing Series after seven acts are given below:
