Extreme exhaustion in early pregnancy...?

I will be 7 weeks pregnant tomorrow, and am finding it really difficult to get up in the mornings. I am ecstatic about being pregnant, as we tried for almost two years, but I really didn't expect to be THIS exhausted all day. I wake up and go pee or grab something to eat, but this exhausts me beyond belief, and I end up going back to bed. I feel so lazy and useless...lol...I know it's normIal to be tired and fatigued in early pregnancy, but is it normal to be completely whiped out, even after doing nothing? Is there anything I can do to boost my energy a bit? Besides a Red Bull? lol

  1. I was the exact same way. It was so hard to go to work everyday and function normally. On weekends I would wake up, eat breakfast, and go back to bed. Then on the weekdays I would work a 9+hour day, get home, lay on the couch, and pass out within an hour tops. It was horrible. I would just say get as much rest as possible. Your body is needing it right now. Also just try to deal...it's hard but it should be over in a few weeks.

  2. I was also extremely tired in early pregnancy. I guess it just comes with the territory. Don't worry things should get more normal in the next few weeks. You'll probably still be tired but not suffering from the extreme exhaustion you have now. Enjoy your pregnancy and try not to worry about things like this. You've waited a long time for this.

  3. Yes, it is completely normal to feel as exhausted as you are at the beginning stage of the pregnancy. I had to drag myself to work every single day then :P

I did ask my doc and according to him, it is because of the hormone change that cause us to feel very lethargic.

But as soon as you are in your 2nd trimester, it will be back to normal and pregnancy becomes really fun.

  4. Yes, when I was pregnant I laid in bed for 4 months! I was so sick and didn't even barely eat! So yes this is normal. One thing I suggest is when you get up in the morning try to get up and clean a bit to get your energy up.

  5. Congradulations! I'm so happy you got pregnant.

Well, it's totally normal, sometimes i want to cry because i'm so tired after cleaning the second house at work.

Don't worry everyone says it gets better in the second trimester. Get a lot of sleep. In bed by 9pm is my policy!

  6. Oh sweetie, I am right there with you!  The exhaustion is mind numbing!!  It is just your body's way of making you slow down and conserve energy so your little one can grow healthy and strong

I am 8 weeks now and starting to feel a bit better, but not by much.  Last week I was bone deep exhausted.  I broke down in tears numerous times because I just didn't feel I could keep trudging along.

They say it will pass, but until it does just remember it is completely normal.

  7. yes its definately normal. im pregnant right now and im going through the same thing. i was the same way with my previous child. but i could just sleep and pee for 3 days straight lol. i consulted with my doctor and he also confirmed if you want more info on this matter the best person to talk to is your doctor.

  8. i was extremely tired at the Begin of my pregnancy..i was even too tired to have s*x lol

    its normal. dont worry

  9. Yeah, it's normal.

My Doc suggested Vit B and Iron supplements - dunno how much they worked, though.

  10. Talk to ur doctor about getting some prenatal vitamins with iron in it. If u have iron in ur prenate vitamins it should help u out a lot. Good Luck!!!!!!!!!  P.S. Don't drink any energy drinks they are not good for the baby because of the amount of caffine in them. And that can cause a miscarriage. So be careful.
