Question:

Extreme shyness in school?

I don't know what to do. I am so shy in school. I am only in the lunchroom long enough to eat, and then I go straight to sit in my empty 4th hour before class. I don't talk. I hardly ever say "here" during roll. Most of my teachers just look up to see my hand when they get to my name. One of my teachers today said I did very well on a quiz, and I couldn't hardly answer. I was called on today to do a translation, and I messed it up, but I knew the answer. I was probably bright red, I was blushing so much. I just don't know what to do. I think all of my teachers like me, but I'd like to talk to them a bit more. I think it'd be good for my grades and I could ask for help on what I don't understand. Any suggestions?

  1. Well I don't know what grade you're in but participation can become HUGE in high school and often can determine grades. I know it's easier said than done, but you need to just let go of what people think about you and stop letting that interfere with your goals.  Try making some friends, ask teachers privately for help. or even go to your parents, and trust me it's like momentum, once you start it'll only be easier.
