I thinking of taking a DMV-Motorcycle class leftover bike from an auction, a Suzuki GN125, and chopping it up.

Is this a good idea. lol

Oh, the bike is $1 a cc they said, so it's $125.

I would take the handlebars off of it and put universal clip ons on, cut the seat in half, weld up a tail out of sheetmetal. Take the stock exhaust off and fabricate a high mount full system. Of course bondo the h**l out of the tail and fenders, paint it flat black. I'm hoping to make it look similar to a Ducati Monster/ Suzuki SV650.

If that fails I'll put dirtbike tires on it.

  1. I say go for it, but then again you should see what my husband did to a old '79 Yamaha XS750 Triple.... can you say sawzall?

The changes I can remember are, Shaved down seat installed 3/4" gel pad (very comfortable) , 3 into 1 cutoff under the frame (Loud), Drag bars, Filled in the Yamaha emblems on the motor and painted black, removed the tank emblems but havent filled them yet,  cut off the rear sets and shortened the rear of the frame. And cut the front fender into a point.... just because.

Anyway It sounds like you have a cool idea and ive been seeing more, of that sort at the local bike night.  I look forward to seeing what you do with it.

  2. Sounds like a fun project.  You could also take this in the direction of an 80s Cafe' racer.

  3. extreme? sportbike? gn125?

i don't think those all belong together.... quit sniffing the markers in your office kyle

yes, it can be a fun project i'm sure.  worth doing, but it aint ever gonna be extreme or sporty lmao

  4. get something better than the 125 , wow they want alot for a bike like that the best gs is the 850

  5. Extreme 125?

  6. Its' too small and unremarkable to spend such time and money on a bike that close to being a moped particularly if you want the look that you are after.
