  1. There was some extremely crappy wrestling in the form of garbage wrestlers like New Jack who only received fame because the bloodthirsty fanbase liked hardcore nonsense. However, ECW did have its share of extremely good wrestling, like with Funk & Foley, Malenko & Benoit & Guerrero, the luchadores, and a lot more, even the hardcore stuff found in guys like Mike Awesome and Masato Tanaka. So while some of the stupid hardcore stuff was crappy, ECW had a surprisingly good roster of talent at times, despite most fans only thinking ECW was about hardcore.

  2. I think it's true b/c it's nothing compared to what it used to be. But if you think about it, ECW has actually been better than usual. Hopefully ECW will regain its true name

  3. The reason why they call it back then king was in a feud with the old ecw and called"extremely crappy wrestling" but I think everyone knows that but I just want to say it.

Back to the question well ecw ain't what it was back in the past. their ain't any hardcore wrestling, lucha wrestling, but their ismostlyy regular wrestling today but not as fun as they use to be. The ecwworldd title is dead because it has wwe's logo. Te tag team and tv champion aren't their too.

They should just call "extreme championship wrestling" to "European championship wrestling"becausee that what it is and the ecw title is mainly the european title if ya think about it.

    This is just my opinion.

  4. I wouldn't really agree one someone who would say it's Extremely Crappy Wrestling. I can think of a reason why they would say that: "Most of the ECW matches over used and utilized extreme rules too much". That's understandable, but they did have mat wrestling, technical wrestling, lucha libre, and much other types of styles. Also the set of wrestlers they had from Chris Benoit, Eddie Guerrero, Taz, Rob Van Dam, Jerry Lynn, and much others. I can't say I agree with people who say that, it's just my opinion and thought.

Edit: Response to aries42095 (RAW) - I think he is referring to the old ECW.

  5. i heard ECW is changing the names to Extremely Corny Wrestling

i am not lieing i am not laughing

  6. The name started when the two larger companies of the day (WCW and WWF) were waging war. They elimated ECW from that title of supirior company because they believed that there was no technique to its style of wrestling(which there wasn't people often got hurt).

But ECW was a plan to create a new look on wrestling something the fans who enjoy hardcore could well...enjoy.

ECW was never crappy just diffrent.

  7. I Agree completely, I remember the good old ECW i  was a fan back when Terry Funk was still in action, The ecw extreme rules matches and ECW originals made ECW what it is. But Now ECW's idea of entertainment is Hornswoggle and colin delaney wtf? Since when was that entertainment

  8. I 100% disagree with that statement.

People tend to think ECW was all hardcore wrestlers who couldn't wrestle..not true.

ECW had some of the most classic matches, especially in the mid 90's, that outdid some matches in the big 2 at that time (WWF,WCW).

With names that went through there like Eddie Guerrero, Dean Malenko, Chris Benoit, Rey Mysterio, Jerry Lynn, Taz, The Dudleys, Rob Van Dam..there were plenty of wrestlers that put on wrestling clinics. Plus, how many of those names went on to be huge stars I just named.

Throw in the lucha style with the classic wrestling, and the hardcore stuff, ECW was a great mix of wrestling. yeah the hardcore stuff attracted the fans, but the fans appreciated great wrestling...you can't call it Extremely Crappy Wrestling when a whole lot of stars came out of there that can actually wrestle.

  9. in a way they have some real good wrestlers that originated from them  and some that are still there ( marcus cor von, cm punk, tommy dreamer, rvd, sabu, elijah burke, ) those people are what made ecw but they dont have good storylines and the matches arent very hardcore anymore
