Alright, I have super duper curly hair:

Sorry that's a terrible pic, it was taken with my crappy sidekick III (never buy that piece of junk)

Anyways, I need a really good straightener. Here's my hair straightened;

Again, sorry for the crappy pic.

So it looks good straightened, it just takes me 2 FREAKING HOURS to do!! And it only lasts about 4 hours!!

So I need some recommendations (I'm not spending over 150).

I want to know what are some really good straighteners that can work for curly, thick hair, stay straight in humidity, can actually straighten your hair, won't take a long time to do.

P.S. In the pic with my curly hair, it's wet. I have like this awkward fro when it's not wet. It... sucks. Please help!

P.S.S. I use sunsilk anti-frizz shampoo and creme.

Also, What's so great about the CHI straightener? I've read a lot and it doesn't seem to amazing.

PLEASE help!

  1. Infiniti by Conair Nano Silver Straightener. it looks really good

  2. You need to start with the right products.  The best product I've found to combat humidity and frizz is Rene Furterer, which can be found at Sephora.com

This helps with frizz and drys your hair quickly making it easier and faster to style.  Try Fioravanti Anti Frizz Silkening Shampoo & the Anti Frizz Conditioner.

Blow out your hair with a round brush and use a good quality straightener like Chi or Sedu.

    Hope this helps!

  3. DO NOT STRAIGHTEN YOUR HAIR!!!!!!!!! My friend has uber curly hair and she went to a salon and got it straightened with some fancy straightener and now she has th worst split ends in the world and every time she cuts them of the come right back! Its ruins your hair and frys it. You'll really regret it later. Blow drying is the way to go. As long as you baby sit it and go over it with a crappy straightener it will look nice for a while. My mom has like the same hair as you and that's what she does and her hair looks really good. PLEASE listen to me. I really want to help you and I'm telling you do NOT buy a really fancy straightener. Try what I said and if it doesn't work maybe you do need a good straightener but please try what I said first!!!!!!!

  4. Get a CHI.  I have curly hair and that's the best investment I ever made.  I have no idea what makes it work so well but it does.  I have had other straightners before and used tons of products and the CHI is the thing that's been the most effective.  I also use Paul Mitchell's Super Skinny Serum and Straight Works.  They are expensive, but I end up using such small amounts of them, that in the end I save money instead of buying cheaper products.

  5. i use a Ceramix 2" straightener. i love it! it works so well!! My parents bought mine about 2 years ago for like $130 but i saw one the other day and it was only like $90. Look around at some salons and you'll probably be able to find one or i know you can buy one online somewhere. Good luck!

You're really pretty with straight hair btw!

  6. Haha, I have the same exact problem. My hair takes 3 hours to striaghten, and when I blow it out and then straighten it it looks poofy and disgusting. I would try a wet to dry straightener. That's what I used to use until it broke. My mom got me a CHI (the pink one, those are the ones they use in the mall when the people scream at you to straighten or curl your hair) and it sucks. I hate straightening my hair when it's dry, because it doesn't work. CHI has a wet to dry straightener, which is what I'm going to try next. It's $150 though :(

  7. The kiyoseki is the best straightner in the world trust me on this one.It can straighten and it can curl your hair if you want. And also when it hot outside your hair stays straight it will not frizz outside. This iron is also healthy for your hair.My hair is poofy frizzy SUPER curly and it works so good on my hair. I really cant live without it. To so see the commercial and reviews go to www.kstyler.com and if you have any questions you can always email me hope this helped.=)

  8. You have really pretty hair! and it looks so long...mine is to and it's extremely thick and frizzy! I wash my hair at night with Dove shampoo and conditioner (I absolutely love how it makes my hair so soft!) and I let it air dry but if I'm pushing time I blow dry it. I use a CHI hair straighten and it was a God send because I have had it for almost 3 years and it still works like new.

I always comb my hair and part it down the center to do one side at a time. I never put any styling products in it before hand. I straighten it and then take Garnier (the super hold) hairspray and lift my hair and spray all over and underneath and then comb it really fast. My hair would stay super straight for days and all you have to do is add a touch of hairspray the net day to give it that just straightened look and so it will smell good to...

I only payed $80 for my hair straightener. The woman that does my hair bought it for me using her discount which it was originally $160! It will probably be the best $80 I will spend my entire life!

  9. i have a chi too and its SUPER AMAZING!

    i agree with michelle

  10. What makes the chi so amazing is that it is a ceramic flat iron and it gets to 356 degrees. that is what you are going to need any flat iron that is ceramic and gets to that temp.. because your hair is so long its going to take a really long time but if your iron gets hot enough it should last till you wash it. chi is the best on the market if not hardcore is really good as well.

  11. i have the same prob use the Coriolis. its the best. look it up on google.

  12. Ceramic tools.  Got mine at Ariel for $40 I think.

I also have really curly hair!

  13. Conair Infiniti Straightener, would be my suggestion

    http://www.drugstore.com/products/prod.a...

it all depends where you buy it to know the actual price, it works really well, and it gets really hot, to almost 400 degrees, but its supposivly isnt supposed to ruin your hair, but i hope this helps.

  14. try the kyoseki(im not sure how to spel it)

you can also go to kstyler.com and check it out!!!

  15. Chi.
