I just had a baby april 5 of this year... i've noticed it dosent take much to make me want to cry. The littlest things make me feel unwanted and dumb. Could it be some sort or post partum depression or that ive jsut become extremely sensitive? I dont feel depressed by any means... no kind of deep sadness or emptyness nothing like that... just very very sensitive. and i dont wanna be put on any kind of antidepressants from a doctor... doctors these days will throw any drug at you. so any suggestions?

  1. I believe it could be Post Partum depression.

The government offers free counseling for pregnant or new mothers so check your local city.

    P.S.

Dont feel down, you have a beautiful child that needs you to be strong!

  2. I do not have any children, Linda, but I DO recommend that you get a referral from you OBG; and see a Psych, who specializes in this.

There is no shame in it and they CAN help specifically with Post-Partum issues.

    Blessings :)

    EDIT --

I just saw "cutemissie360"s Answer & If a Psych is not covered by Insurance - Free counseling that she suggested would be Great !!

    .

  3. You just had a major life change.  You are responsible for all the needs of your new baby.

It is no wonder you feel like crying sometimes.

You may not be getting much sleep either.  This can make you feel more vulnerable.  I hope this will pass in time.  Best Wishes.

  4. It sounds to me like you may be suffering from a small dose of Post Partum Depression. That is nothing you can't handle with a strong heart and help from your friends. You could always call your local health department for suggestions on help lines and counceling. The main thing with your body's changes and chemical changes is to remember you can be in control. I know people worry about Doctors just making a buck but I would recommend maybe talking to your OBGYN about it and asking them for suggestions. Keep your head up for you own sake and your childs. We had our son April 2, 2007 and I can tell you it just gets better and better. The first 3-6 months is a hard time with alot of changes. Just hang in there and be strong.

    REMEMBER... YOU ROCK!
