Question:

Extremely sore hayfever eyes - remedies?

I suffer from a pretty severe grass and tree allergy, ie I can't touch either without a bad rash, have hayfever etc. I can stand the sneezes etc but my eyes cause me so much irritation I can barely stand it. It feels like an ever-present piece of grit pushed up inside my upper eyelid. I wear all-day-all-night contact lenses which help immensely, as they provide a barrier between my eyelids and my eyeball, but the pain is still extremely aggravating and I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions. I am generally allergic to lots of things in the atmosphere eg dogs, cats, etc so I have much higher than average histamine levels anyway. Is there a super-strength antihistamine??? I don't want to bother my doctor with something like hayfever, but will do if there's something on prescription that'll make a difference!

  1. If your allergic to a lot, simple water drops are great. i'm allergic to grass and fur too

  2. My dr. gave me some RX drops and they worked wonders!!!! They're a little pricey, about $50 a bottle but they help immediately. I can't remember the name off hand since I used it all but your eye dr. will know. I also take Claritin and it helps a ton too. I can't stand itchy eyes!!!!!

  3. Try visine (eye drops) or see a doctor.
