Question:

Extremely watered down gatorade just as good as water?

I buy gatorade powder that is supposed to make 6 gallons of gatorade. I add much more water so that the 6 gallons of powder makes 48 gallons of gatorade.

This is a 1/8 gatorade 7/8 water mixture obviously. I do this because I need a hint of flavor in water to drink it. The flavor is about the same as squeezing a lemon into your water. I drink 2 gallons of this a day.

What is the difference between this small amount of powder being added and just drinking 2 gallons of plain old water?

  1. i would say no. processed sugar is the culprit here, and this is the main thing you are adding to your water. Personally I have been waiting for a sugar free 'sport drink ' in the U.S. with Stevia .   A concoction that can be made at home is with a pediacare type product, it the stuff we give to babies who are dehydrated, and it Works! I add  50% filtered water  then add Stevia to sweeten  . You can vary this to taste.
