Question:

Eye Glasses Frames?

Hello,

I want to know if it is possible to use the reading glasses frames for near sighted glasses. I bought a pair of reading glasses from Rite Aid with a frame that I really love and I want that frame for the near-sighted glasses. Is this possible? Please let me know soon.

Thanks

  1. I don't know where Terry got that info about patterns from.

For several years now, patternless edgers are used...the machine just traces the frame, no matter what frame it is. So there is no pattern made, to save or give to anyone.

Most ready made reader frames can't have lenses put into them , they just aren't good enough quality to work with.

Why would you want to spend big bucks to have your real lenses put into a real cheap frame that will probably break within a month, and no parts are available for.

Most optical stores won't take a chance on trying to work with a drugstore junk frame to put lenses into.

It may look real cute to you...but there is absolutely no quality to it.

All in all...NOT a good idea.

  2. sure it is possible. Ask your optician to make lens patterns from the frames you like. He will charge you, but ask him to give you the patterns so that you could use them again if you need to.
