Recently went out on a date, had a great time. As we were saying goodbye. i noticed as we were looking into each others eyes whilst saying goodbye, that her eyes were moving left to right very small amounts but really fast. Anyone know what that is all about?

  1. she was looking for a way out!

  2. I know exactly what it is, Nystagmus, I was born with it.

  3. excitement!

  4. I see that regularly in a kid at our rugby team, when he looks at you its as if his eyes are moving slightly from side to side really fast as if struggling to focus, then it stops.

Apparently its either a weak muscle or neurological problem.

Thats the name of it Ester has said

  5. It's called nystagmus and can have many causes from eye,  problems to neurological problems. Some people are born with it and it's frequent with some types of blindness.

There are different types of nystagmus some slow, some fast and some oscillating- maybe what she had. It's also frequent when people are dizzy- I doubt that would be the case, or she wouldn't have wanted to go out on a date.

As you get to know her better, she probably will explain what is causing her eyes to do this.
