I was just curious.

Okay, I have only a quarter white and 3 quarter asian, viet to be exact. My mom has light, light brown eyes and my dad has dark brown eyes, almost black.

My question is, why do I have hazel eyes then?

  1. Well if you want to really get into this, learn about Mendell's Punnett Square. You have hazel eyes, probably because of your ancestors( most likely your grandparents). One of your parents had the hidden traits for hazel eyes(which is a recessive trait passed from one of your grandparents) and it showed up in you!

  2. It's in your gene pool. The white people that you are related to, somewhere down the line had hazel or blue or green w/e eyes.

It's a recessive gene...too hard to explain. You can google it if you don't understand. But it got passed to you. Usually the brown eye color is dominant, but I've seen so many people who's parents were brown eyed and they have different because of that gene.

    You're unique! Very cool.

    Have a great day!

  3. Have you taken into account that one or more of your grandparents may have hazel eyes, and that you may have inherited the colour after it skipped a generation?
