ok..I recently went to the eye doctor and he changed my prescription. He said that I had a little of Astigmatisim. Not much but a slight of it. He gave me glasses with the corrected prescription. But because I like wearing contacts he also gave me some called "ASCEND UV" I was wondering if anyone knew that if this brand of contacts is designed for my Astigmatisim problem????

  1. im not sure about that brand. Acuvue makes greats contacts for an astigmatism, you can look at the RX box to see if there is correction for it.if it is designed for an stigmatism then it should say a cylinder and axis. If you have a minor astigmatism you can just bypass the need and wear regular contacts.

  2. From what I have found online, No, these lenses do not correct for astigmatism. Two things could come into play though. I have a slight astigmatism, where it is corrected in glasses, but, as my Doctor told me, could go either way in contacts. I ended up choosing a contact that does not correct for astigmatism.

Typically, a contact lens that does correct astigmatisms will have the word "Toric" in their name.

Here is one website, in the states, that will show you the different brands that make these Toric Lenses

  3. There are a lot of contact manufactures out there. The best thing to do is check out the manufacturer on the web. they may have a web site that will explain their products and might find what you are looking for! Good luck
