  1. If he doesn't have any major health problems and didn't cut his eye or something......It's probably just a popped blood vessel which are common, not serious, and don't need medical attention.  Here is a picture http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Subconjunct...  Usually they go away from 2-3 weeks and looks worse before it gets better.  If it hurts pretty bad or he's super worried, go to the doctor.

  2. DOCTOR

  3. he popped a blood vessel and if it starts to spread then its really serious

  4. Well, the logical course of action would be to go to the hospital. This happened to my mother once, and it turned out that she had a cough, and the constant coughing caused the blood vessels in her eye to rupture. It wasn't anything serious and the blood went away after a while.

You should still bring him to the doctor just to make sure though.

  5. call the doctor or the ER or an urgent care center. He may have broken a bllod vessel but why take chances. If he is really hurting, call an ambulance (911) or go to the ER

  6. If you mean the white of his eye has turned to red, did he receive a blow to his head?  That could cause it.  I had 2 eyes like that from my ex.  It goes away by itself.  If nothing has happened, I would call the E.R. and speak with a nurse to see if it's an emergency.  If not, call a dr. tomorrow.

  7. First DONT PANIC!

ask him if the red eye has pain? if Yes then take him to the doctor.

ask him if he has any cough/cold? That could be the probable cause of his red eye. (not to worry) just see a doctor.

Does he have hypertension? if Yes then check his blood pressure

The condition is called sub-conjunctival haemorrhage.

If your answer to all the above questions is NO, then please see an Optometrist. It may be because of some viral infection esp by piconavirus or adenovirus or associated with Haemophilus spp.

The red spot will take some time to resolve (15 day approx)

Dont worry your father will be fine.

    :-)
