  1. go to a eye doctor!!!!!!!!! they r BS'ing you

  2. I don't think they are trying to be unreasonable--it's just that our eyes do change over time and they are being conscientious and responsible in not providing contacts to you when your vision could have changed over the last year.  Wearing contacts that are not the correct prescription could be damaging to your eyes or could cause other problems (like not being able to see as well as you should!)

I know $90 is a lot of money, but for the health of your eyes it's a small price.  I would pay the money and get another eye exam.  Other optometrists would require a yearly exam as well.

  3. Next time you can stock up on lenses ahead of time, maybe. ou will have to find a place that will okay it for you to order from an internet place to buy them (maybe Wal-Mart does that I don't know) and then you can get them a bit cheaper too maybe. But at this point I think they have you by the gonads and can squeeze all they want until you give in....

  4. you have 2 get a new exzam that is what happned to me or go 2 americas best its cheeper

  5. Contact lens prescriptions expire after one year and state law requires them not to sell them to you or they can be fined. Ask them if they can give you a spare pair until you can afford an eye exam. Hope this helps.

  6. that is usually standard at any optical

  7. Most states have a one year expiration on contacts, meaning you only buy as many contacts as you need to get you to the year expiration.  For the most part this is done for patient safety issues.  If left to their own devices, most people would never get eye exams, take a wild guess on what kind of contacts they needed, and there would be a huge increase in eye infections, ulcers and consequent permanent vision loss.

Its the same reason that if you get a prescription for medication you typically can't just buy as many as you want whenever you want.  You don't want lay people playing doctor.

  8. In certain states it is against the law to provide contacts to a customer more then a year from their last examination.

Some offices will give you contacts for 2 years however because some people's insurance do not pay for an exam a year. I suggest instead of wal-mart going to some office that has this policy instead.

However there is no (legal) way to get around your situation now.
