Question:

Eye exam for an 8 month old?

Has anyone's baby gone for an eye exam? What is done usually? My girl has an appointment today with an optometrist who specializes in children. They want to check her eye sight (she was a preemie) and check on her lazy eye. Does anyone know what will be done today to do this?

  1. Light reaction test and a eye movement test.

They will dilate her pupils with drops to check for nearsightedness, farsightedness or astigmatism.

Something they called a penlight exam. To check to make sure the pupils are the same size, which also had something to do with checking for droopy eye lid, just overall to check her eyes.

Not sure what they will do to check her lazy eye.
