Eye examination?

I am having problems with my eyes, they burn when I read and when I sit in front of the computer. I need to get them checked, but I don't have insurance. I am new in this country and I don't have much money. Please tell me where I can go for free/cheap thanks

This really depends on where you are.  Larger cities may have clinics that provide some health care.  Also some immigrant groups offer health assistance.

If you're  reading or using the computer for long periods of time, you may need to rest your eyes a while before continuing. They may just be tired of the strain.

You can get an eye exam at pretty much any optical shop without insurance, and they aren't that costly. Some even offer free eye exams. If you end up needing glasses (depending on what kind you get and your prescription) they may be expensive.

I'd suggest calling local opticians to see what they charge to make sure you get the best deal

why don't you just get some short term major medical insurance until you find a job that will sponser you or something, unless your an illegal immigrant, then I don't know what to tell you except to go get registered...

for now, try finding out about going to an open county? clinic in your area (they may see any patients without any insurance)
