Eye floaters or something else?

Ok, so I have this problem with my eyes and it's been worrying me. Every now and then, I will see these bright blue worm things crawling across my field of vision, and it leaves these "marks" or "tracks" (for lack of a better name) in my vision that are black or blue in color. These marks only last for about a few minutes, but then they go away. I usually try to ignore it and go on with my day. But just yesterday, I saw a BIG worm thing crawling in my vision (the biggest one I've ever seen), and it left a huge mark in my vision on the left side of my right eye. It lasted much longer than usual, for about an hour, and it really scared me. And, to make it worse, I could see more of these little worm things or whatever they are crawling in that big mark that the bigger worm thingy left. I have no idea what's going on and I'm not crazy. I went to the eye doctor a while ago and they found nothing wrong and said they might just be floaters. I don't think they're floaters. can someone help?

  1. here is a little info about eye floaters for you.....but from what you are saying, they are getting worse, you should go see an opthamologist, they are eye care specialists..

Eye floaters are hard to describe. Some view them as tiny flecks or "wormy" substances floating about their field of vision. These flecks, specks, clouds, worms or other term you may hold dear refer to eye floaters. Eye floaters are easily seen when you look at a blank document or background. Many people notice them as tiny grayish objects floating in their primary field of vision. They often move slowly across your eyes, disappearing, only to reappear within minutes or hours. Most people are able to "tune out" small floaters that appear on occasion.

If you start to develop new floaters however or the spots in your vision become worse or come with vision loss, you may be developing a more serious condition. Various vascular problems including retinal hemorrhages or diabetic retinopathy can result in the sudden appearance of multiple floaters. Other possibilities include retinal detachment. Always consult your doctor or eye care professional if your vision changes significantly, you notice bleeding in your eye or the number of flashes or floaters appearing in your line of site suddenly increases. With prompt treatment your doctor may be able to preserve your vision or correct a burgeoning problem.

  2. Yep those are floaters which are jelly like substances that build up in the middle of your eye and cast small shadows on your retna.  They are irritating, but there is really not a lot you can do about them.

  3. eye floaters its kinda like when you look at the sun then look away and the image of the sun is still there and leaves marks. it happens when our blood sugar/pressure is high or you have diabetes

  4. What you are describing are floaters.  We have a jelly inside our eye and over time this jelly starts to degrade and clump together.  Then when you more your eye you see these clumps float back and forth.  EXTREMELY annoying, trust me I have many, but there is little that can be (realistically) done for them and they usually are benign.  ONE IMPORTANT NOTE, if you are experience any flashes of light in your side vision, like someone is taking a picture off to your side.  This may be a sign of something more serious.  Otherwise, just try to ignore it, sorry I don't have a better answer for you.

  5. I have floaters, and this doesn't really sound like normal floaters at all.  I would get a second opinion, preferably from a vitreoretinal surgeon.
