Question:

Eye infection or something, I don't even know...?

I wear contacts- I've worn them for over a year. I take good care of them, but lately my eyes have been wicked bloodshot and sometimes sore. Stuff also looks foggy sometimes and a lot of that stuff that you sometimes get in the corner of your eyes is getting into the coners of my eyes. If I give my eyes a break from the contacts, they get a little better, but not much.

My dad says I just need to give them a bigger rest, but I think my eyes may be infected. I'm not sure- do you think I should go to the doctor or wait it out?

  1. Sounds like hypoxia from the contacts, the cornea of the eye is not getting enough oxygen, and being that it has no blood supply of it's own, the blood vessels from the surrounding eye become irritated and start growing towards the cornea (where you see your iris). You may be wearing your contacts too long, or not cleaning them enough. I would suggest seeing your eye doctor for a look to make sure that everything is ok.

  2. you need new contacts
