  1. I had two eye muscle surgerys on my left eye. The first on they streched the inside muscle and the second one they cut and stich the out side muscle. I was asleep for the surgerys and after words it really didn't hurt it just felt alittle weird, I don't know exactly how to explain it. But my eye did itch a few days later when my eye started to heal and it also itched because of the stiches. I hope this helps. Good luck with everything.

  2. I have had three such surgeries.   My eyes only hurt for a day or two afterwards and the pain was not bad at all.   They will most certainly give you a prescription for some pain meds - I ended up taking only a couple of the pills.

They will also give you some eye drops to put in and possibly even an ointment at bedtime.   The drops did not bother me but the ointment really sucked. It was greasy and not much fun to put in.

In my case the surgeries re-aligned my eyes so there was quite a bit of disorientation.   It took me about a week to get used to the new alignment and figure out depth perception, etc.   For me this was by far the worst part.  If that happens to you, just try and be patient and hopefully in a week to 10 days your vision will be close to normal.   It also may take up to 6 weeks for everything to heal completely.

    Best of luck!

  3. My daughter (who is not yet 2) will have the surgery at the end of the months.  We were told that she shouldn't be in much pain, but her eyes may feel really dry and kind of itchy, and that she might be bloody tears for a day or two and very red eyes for a few weeks.  I totally agree, the description of the surgery sounds super-creepy and I'm trying not to freak out on behalf of my daughter, but from everything I've read, it's not a painful procedure.

  4. if you'll be asleep then you wontfeel anything.

i have a friend who got eye sugery when she was 4. so i suggest you calm down.

    i mean a 4-year old survived it =D
