Eye operation nerves?

Question

I have an operation in 2 weeks to remove a cyst from my eye. Im pretty nervous as its in such a sensetive area. Does anyone no what the procedure entails?

I also have one on my other eye, do you no if it is likely for both of the cysts to be removed at once, or will I have to make another appointment?

I don't think they will do them at the same time,you may have to have a cover or patch on for a day or two, otherwise you'll be o.k.  codger

Hi, what the hospital will do is to do one operation at a time. Its very rare to have both done at once.

Hey, calm down, breathe deeply, and tell yourself, the doctors know what they're doing, and they'll look after you, it's sensitive, but what about people who has cataracts? LASIK? They're all fine, so no need to worry. And the cysts should be moved all at once, it shouldn't take forever! Good luck!

Take a deep breath. Whenever there's an eye procedure there's an eye drop that numbs your eye. If this is a surgical procedure then they will numb the area with a small injection. First they'll put some eye drops that will numb the eye, then they will put some ointment in the area to numb it a little, they'll ask you to close your eyes and they'll give you an injection. Is is a skin tag or a zit like cyst? If it's a skin tag than it's fast and they could do both eyes at the same time, depending on the size of it.

If it's a zit like cyst then they shouldn't do both eye at the same time. If that is the case, they will use a little instrument to flip your eyelid (if the cyst is inside your eyelid) and make a small incision (you won't feel a thing I promise) and remove the cyst. They'll then put some ointment on the incision and pressure patch your eye lid. You should keep that patch for however long they tell you then apply the ointment that they'll give you.

All of this goes a lot faster than it sounds. And like I said, they'll numb the area.
