I get eye pain and left sided headaches when I look to the left. I saw 2 doctors , got a cat scan , and saw an eye specialist. I got nothing. Been going on for 2 months. I can avoid this problem by never ever looking left again. Stops alot of activities. Any comments would be helpful. If you experienced or know someone who has. Let me know symptoms and if and when it stopped. Thanks for listening. Seriously

  1. u know u can sun burn ur eye o.o

  2. my husband had headaches on one side of his head and after a few weeks gradually started losing sight in the eye on the same side. After many tests, he was diagnosed with a rare disorder called optic neuritis, which is when your optic nerve becomes inflamed and affects your sight.Loss of sight can be permanent if treatment is not sought early enough. The best test is an MRI scan, although you may have to wait a few months in the public health system if your doctor doesn't deem your case urgent enough. If it's optic neuritis, you will be treated with mass amounts of methylprednisolone then released and monitored as 1) it's a common symptom of Multiple Sclerosis and 2) optic neuritis re-occurs in alot of patients.

But it may not be, see a specialist! First an opthalmologist or neurologist

  3. sounds like it's stress related, not "mental stress", but stress on your eye.

Are you online often or watch tv often?

that's a very common cause. anything that you focus on steenuosly can cause it, tv, computer, hobbies such as painting or building model planes-cars etc... basically anything involving a limitied view like stairing.

  4. Heck yeah! Staring at guitar hero for an hour!

  5. Serious, my daughter was diagnosed with the same symptoms as having too much cerebrospinal fluid - had 4 spinal taps- which do not work so don't get one- and after seeing the top specialist in Philadelphia at Penn an opthoneurosurgeon- we are waiting for 6 weeks to see if the medicine Diamox will decrease the pressure...she has no peripheral vision in her left eye and has loss of vision with spots....some doctors were telling her she needs a shunt-- a tube placed in your brain that runs into your abdomen to relieve the pressure from the fluid....

You have the exact same symptoms and the exact same response from the doctors--my advise to you is to go to the biggest teaching hospital within 2 hours of your home ---the doctors in your area are not well versed in this disease-- it affects 1in100,000 people.......good luck to you...I'll pray you don't have this....if you live in PA the hospital is PENN.

  6. I'm not sure about your problem, but it seems to be common that eye doctors are clueless to any oddness with the eye ball.  My dad got hit in the eye with a racket and his contact left an indention on his eye and it was swollen for 3 weeks.  He went to one dr who just gave him an antibiotic...this didnt help...so he went to a specialist who gave him more medicine which made the eye worse.  his eye ended up swelling really bad and he had to get glacoma eye drops to bring the pressure down.  After that appt, the dr sill had no explaination to why his eye, over a month later, had not gotten better.  So...I have no real advice for you but just to rant with you...if they didnt' check the pressure in your eye you may ask them to do this...
