Question:

Eye-shine in humans?

I just recently started a new job, and noticed that one of my co-workers has a strange shine in one of her eyes, much like that of a cat's. I only notice it in brief flashes, if she turns away quickly, but it's definitely there.

Since humans do not generally have a tapetum lucidum (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tapetum_lucidum), this points to some interesting questions:

1. Is she half cat / werewolf / big foot?

2. Does she have a false eye?

3. Does she have a cataract or some sort of eye cancer?

4. ...How do I ask her which it is?

5. Should I? (What if the answer is #3, but she is unaware that anything is wrong?)

  1. Try taking a photo of your coworkers and see if she has red-eye.
