  1. In my practice it is common to have the second eye done within 2 to 3 weeks of the first eye.

  2. It can normally be done as soon as the first eye has settled.  2-3 weeks, as a rule.  Depending on the refractive result, it may be a good idea to wait until the operated eye has got its new Rx made up, for good vision on one side, before doing the other eye.  Nearer 4-5 weeks in that case.

I've known it done straight after the 1-week check-up when the first eye was looking good and the surgeon had a free slot.

The bigger the difference in refraction of the two eyes after one has been done, the more inconvenient it tends to be to leave them unbalanced, which can apply some "hurry up" to the proceedings.
