Question

okay so when i was 13, i didn't like my eyebrows because when i was little, i fell off a bike and that causeds a small break/bald spot in my thick eyebrows soo i stole tweezers from my mom (tht she used to pull the white hairs out of her head lol) and tweezed them.

after a while, my mom and dad noticed and got super mad that i did them.. i was embarassed so i said "i don't know what ur talking about about..i didn't pluck them."

they didn't believe me and told me never to do it again..my mom doesn't even groom her eyebrows! do u think that my parents dont' want me to grow up too fast or what? why do they have a problem with it????

skool is starting soon and my mom is going to the hairdresser tommorow..should i come along with my mom and ask her if i can get it professionally done there?? i really want too..do u know how much its gonna cost? do u think she'll SAY YES??? WHAT CAN I SAY TO PERSUADE HER!!??? THANKS A LOT EVERY1!

i started tweezing at about 12. i think it hurts more to wax. i guess it would never hurt to ask.

It should be under ten bucks to get them done. For me it only costs 6 (I go to a nail salon, but you obviously don&#039;t have this option if you can&#039;t drive.)

And tweeze them if they say no. Be a rebel, it&#039;s YOUR eyebrows.

I know this is a bit dramatic, but give her the whole, &quot;kids make fun of me at school for my eyebrows&quot; spiel and end up in tears! It should cost anywhere from 5-20 dollars, which is worth not being made fun of. I would show her you are interested by showing you did research (don&#039;t worry I will give you websites to show her). Really look interested and try to convince her as best as you can. After you get them waxed, by eyebrow tweezers to pluck the stray hairs that grow in after you wax them. I really hope I helped and here are the websites!

I think this is a really good idea.

The best way to get your mom to see eye to eye with you (or eyebrow to eyebrow) is not to try to &quot;persuade&quot; her - but rather talk to her about your concerns. Many girls and women tweeze their eyebrows for a variety of reasons - many solely for the purpose of beauty.

If you are embarassed about your scar, explain it to your mother - and mention that having it done professionally will help you learn how to form your eyebrows in a way that looks nice. Tell her that you want to tweeze them, and want to be responsible about it, as well as respect her and your father.

She will appreciate your honesty if you approach her this way, and she is more likely to work with you.

Also - an eyebrow procedure can cost anywhere from 15-20 dollars.

Your parents are messed.  What is so bad about plucking your eyebrows?  I did mine when I was 13 and my parents didn&#039;t even say a word about it.  It&#039;s not like your doing drugs or something.

just tell her the truth tell her she was mad and so was dad so you told them a little lie tell them you don&#039;t like the scar and want to look your best for school ask her if you can get them done right so you don&#039;t have to worry about it. It seems to me that this is really bugging you get the truth out there and you&#039;ll feel much better!

tell her in a mature way that you would like to get your eyebrows done so your face looks clean and polished for school. If she still doesnt allow you to, ask her why she is against it.

if you dont like your eyebrows then just get them waxed. Your parents might not like it cus they think ur growing up too fast, but its really no big deal. a lot of people get their eyebrows waxed. I dont know how much it would cost to where your going but its usually 10- 30 dollars. You have to get them done monthly though or else they grow back and that can add up and get expensive. So my advice would be to pay for it urself and then maybe ur parents will let you do it. PS: it DOSNT HURT!

i know somebody who wont let his kids get theirs done and they need them done.  his daughter is like 17!

I may not help much but..

I&#039;m a different age then u .. anyway.

Honestly i think she may say no, shes probably already mad about you sneaking and tweezing them. But, wax them. Now that you tweezed them, they&#039;ll grow back faster. I was so scared on my first time, and really, it doesnt hurt at all.. idont know how it is at a salon cause my mom did it for me.

It cost from 6-15$ here in my place.

Its easier if my mom does it, its cheaper, reuseable and its not like your using the same wax strip that other women used and u never know whats on it..

Tell your mom its growing.. etc.. ur growing up now and u should be able to wax ur eyebrows. and tell her you dont want it to grow and ur sorry about tweezing them last time.. stuff like that. and promise her u&#039;ll never do it again... then most likely she&#039;ll say yes. If she doesnt, tough luck, keep persuading her everyday.

yea i think they dont want you to grow up too fast. like i started taking interest in my eyebrows when i was 12 and my friend used like an eyebrow razor and she shaved em 4 me. they came out real nice. but my mom wanted 2 have like a heart attack lol. i didnt care i kept doing them like that cusz i was so scared of waxing and at the time i had no clue about threading but since around the time i was lik 11 my auntsz had been telling me &quot;eww u gotta get those done.&quot;

by the time i turned 14 i had stopped shaving them for like a year and they were looking so terrible. i had 2 go get them waxed. it hurts but you get used to it and the resultsz are sooooo amazing way better than my friendsz shaving lol. it cost me 10 bucsz but theyre so worth it. and one of my friendsz from skool getsz hersz threaded and they lok amazing. just ask your mom the worst she could say isz no. and if it were my mom telling me no i would just get my own money and go without her and get them done anyway. she&#039;ll get over it =] lol

I&#039;m 13 and my eyebrows are waxed.

Tell her you want groomed eyebrows - otherwise say you&#039;ll pay. Eyebrows costs about $5- $10 depending where you go.

Wow! I wen&#039;t through the same prob, but mine was shaving my legs when I was 12! I think the reason my parents got mad was just because I didn&#039;t tell them, and I guess my mom wanted to help me get good supplies and prepare and practice stuff.

i actually think if you asked your parents about professionally done, that would show that you were responsible, and weren&#039;t going to go behind their backs and pluck your eyebrows. So I would say go for it!

I wax my brows, its the quickest and easiest, and you&#039;re brows are only red for a few hours, then you&#039;ll look great for like a month. Umm when I got it usually is 10 or 15 dollars, not that expensive

You should talk to your parents rationally about why they are against you grooming your eyebrows!

It could be because you did them in a wrong way when you were younger.  I think they may be a bit more lenient when you ask them to get them professionally done.  When you ask, let her know that you understand the fact that once you groom them once, you have to keep grooming them.  If she does say yes, and you go to get them done for your first time, ask the waxer to thin them, but to keep the natural arch.  What they&#039;ll do is wax the bottom of your eyebrow, but not the top. The top is your natural arch.  As you get your eyebrows done more and more, you can ask them to go a bit thinner, and then they&#039;ll start taking a bit off of the top of the eyebrows. dont do that your a little kid...u do this now what the h**l are u gonna do when ur 16 or 17? its more fun when u grow up then when ur young...trust me nows the time to have fun...because once ur older this will be a job u have to do .....do you eyebrows....get hair done...shave...wear make up....its alot of ****...so calm down for now and wait till ur like 17...its gonna go by faster then u think..

yeah you should ask her to let you get them done. Say that you feel insecure about the bald spot and she will hopefully understand. then you can observe the hairdresser and learn to do it a good way yourself.

To persuade your mom, it depends on what type of mood shes in, so make her happy with you ( i mean like really happy) and then it would be harder for her to say no. Eyebrows usually cost around $10.

Why do you think your mom will say no?

Is it because she doesnt want you to grow up?

Or shes doing for the good of you?

because eyebrows can hurt alot and then they grow more faster.

I usually fix my eyebrows with really thin, and detailed eyeliner.

well, i get my done at the local salon, and they charge $7, but we only have to pay 5 because my mom is best friends with the owner.... yeah just ask her, you&#039;ll never know if you don&#039;t try... if she says no, tell her the pros... you&#039;ll feel better about yourself.. etc.. try that... hope i helped...
