Eyeliner Troubles? Please Help!

Question

Whenever I apply my eyeliner, about an hour later it starts to run and smudge! Is there any brands or anything else I can do to keep it from running and smudging? I use Maybelline Define-A-Line.

try a waterproof eyeliner. avon has some great ones ( glimmersticks eye liner waterproof/non waterproof in several different shades) that last for hours. i think theyre on sale now for 2.79 (reg. 6.00).

those are the only ones that i use. they stay on forever even when i cry or swim (:

Elizabeth Arden makes a good eye primer.Helps keep shadow and liner stay put. there are lots of other primers out there ,but E.A . is one I've tried and liked.

waterproof wont stop this from happening, but it will slow it down, so it stays alot longer

Definately use a powder first.  That will help keep your liner from getting moist and runny.  You can also use a later powder on top.

I use waterproof eyeliner it stays better. I use revlon colorstay it works pretty well.

get some (good!) matte black eyeshadow (i use loreal black rich eyeshadow) and run a line of the shadow over your eyeliner to set it in place. It should help it quit smudging. Also, try to find a better automatic eyeliner that is long wear or smudge proof. These tend not to smudge as much as a pencil or a regular automatic eyeliner. Still run the black eyeliner over the new liner though, that will definitely help. Liquid liner is also an option. It takes a few tries but it works well.

I really like Revlon ColorStay liners. Maybe try setting your liner with powder, just get an eyeshadow or something that matches your eyeliner color, and run it over the eyeliner with an eyeliner brush, or the sponge applicators. Anything that says soft kohl or kohl eyeliners are very smudgeable.

MAC Fluidline, it is the best eyeliner in my opinion, it is a cream eyeliner that comes in a .1 oz container and i hav had it for about 6 months and i have barely used any of it, so it may not seem like a lot but it lasts a long time, but it is extremely long-wearing and smudge-proof, i wore it to a funeral once and after all the crying i had done it was still on and was not smudged on bit, all-in-all its a great product!

i use bourjois khol&contour and it doesn't smudge unless i smudge it myself

Depends how much you are willing to splash out on it :)

Clinique do the best eyeliner. Fact. I love their eyeliner and I brought it for a few months at the cost of £12 (roughly $24) a stick which would last me a couple of months.. but it got abit too pricey for me for just an eyeliner.

So now i use Rimmel London eyeliner. It works in the exact same way as me with the cheap price tag of about £4 ($8)! It does smudge abit when you first put it on, but what I do is I put the eyeliner on, go brush my teeth or something which takes about 5 minutes and involves alot of facial expressions lol, then come back. Then what i  do is get a cotton bud and l**k the end a bit to dampen it, then wipe away the smudge lines and im left with perfect eyeliner :)

The day my friend introduced me to cotton buds was heaven :p
