Question:

Eyes are overly sensitive to light?

My eyes always seem to water for the slightest reasons. I cannot stare at a camera while it flashes, my eyes water up and tend to roll back in my head if I try to keep them open. Also this happens sometimes when it's bright outside, and occasionally they just get super watered up and seem to roll back in my head, and I'm actually blind for a few minutes until I can get it to wear off.

I have very light skin and dark brown eyes, could this have anything to do with it? Also I don't wear glasses or contacts or anything.

As you can probably imagine, this condition of mine scares me a lot whenever I'm driving on a sunny day, lots of times the light reflections off of other cars will make me squint, and I'm scared if I go "temporarily blind" what will happen while I drive.

What should I do?

  1. you might have a blonde fundus, which means that your retina (the very back of your eye) is lighter than most (just like your normal skin) so it's more sensitive to light.  go to the doctor and have it checked out -- be sure to wear sunglasses all the time though.  my husband has a blonde fundus and i know how annoying it can be!

  2. It's a vitamin deficiency.  Take a one a day vitamin and it will clear up.  If not go see an eye doctor.

  3. wear sun glasses, or protect ur eyes 4rm the sun or any light..
