Eyes feel different after...

Question

Why do people who have bad myopia (like me) eyes look different kind of swollen and heavy when they they take their glasses off?

It happens to me but they don't look/feel heavy if I don't wear my glasses at all. It's only when I'm wearing them then take them off

Minus lenses used to correct nearsightedness minify images and make your eye appear smaller when you wear them.  If eyeglasses are removed then the eyes are normal size.

Plus lenses correct farsightedness and presbyopia.  If a person wears a plus lens then their eyes appear larger.

This is one of the reasons I choose to wear contact lenses.  Images appear closer to normal size and are less minified/magnified.  They are give a person a more natural appearance.
