Just curious how many people open their eyes underwater when duck diving. I never have, but a few of my friends do.

  1. waters pretty muddy around cornwall, so doesnt make a difference, may get something nasty though haha

  2. I open my eyes in Hawaii and close them at Huntington.

  3. I do, but its really hard to resist rubbing my eyes when I come back up.

  4. i wear contacts... so i close mine!

  5. I do

  6. i do, but if i do it for more than like 5 secs i starts to sting my eyes

  7. mate im the same i dont..whats the point and what r u supose to look 4 "sharks and S**t" hello

  8. depends where i am when im surfing.  in jersey i find that the ocean doesnt hurt your eyes at all, but when im on the gulf i always close them.  the water seems to have a higher salinity here, not to mention red tide season.

  9. I have been swimming with my eyes open forever. I started swimming in the ocean and back bays from when I was in about first grade. I usually keep my eyes open in a pool or in the ocean, although I do tend to close them, reflexively, when I wipe out.

I have been surfing since '66, and until my grandkids started complaining about getting salt water in their eyes in the past few years, I just never thought too much about it.

  10. unless you don't want to see again. i never do because my ocean area has a lot of salt in the water

  11. I love surfing, so it doesn't really matter when salt water gets in my eyes.

Besides, salt water gettin' in your eyes builds character. LOL!
