Question:

Eyes too dry for contacts. Help!?

I try to wear contacts every year in the summer because I hate the "raccoon eyes" I get from wearing my glasses in the sun. But my eyes are SO dry I usually can't make it through a full work day with them in. I have a pretty bad astigmatism. Any suggestions?

  1. Have you tried contact lens rewetting drops throughout the day?

  2. I have bad astigmatism, and I also have that problem when I try to wear contacts.  Unfortunately, eye drops haven't helped me very much, so I just limit my contact wearing to 4 hours or less.  So maybe only wear them when you're outside or for special occasions.  There are specially designed contacts that are supposed to let more air through so that your eyes don't dry out as much.  Unfortunately, they don't make them for my level of astigmatism yet, and they might not for yours either.  But you could still look into it, and if you can get them, that might help.
