I am 12, and my eyes are HORRIBLE. they are in the 6 range, maybe worse now. I already got new glasses likein 2007 at the near end of the year, and a few weeks after the new pair, my eyes were getting worse. They are getting worse, now. I don't watch a lot of tv, i play the computer for a few hours, and I go to school. My problem is the computer, once im on i cant get off. Second, school. When I read, I just start leaning in close to the book, or my page, and am too close,. I dont notice it, and I just start leaning in . My eye doctor told me to keep my book not so close, but i cant. I get into the book, and start leaning in. My eyes are horrible, I wear my glasses 24/7 I never take them off , only got bed. Any tips to rest my eyes, making them better, and so on? Please give good sites, and tips. I wear them so much that I have a tan line showing my glasses on my face. Its that bad. HELP!!!!

  1. Do a search for "Bates method".  I'm sorry to hear you're already so dependent on glasses, as it seems to be practically impossible to get much improvement that way.

  2. Eyesight generally gets worse as you progress through your teens, but it should stabilize in your late teens or early twenties.  Eating carrots and rubbing your eyes will not help with this, sorry.

The computer won't cause your vision to get worse, either.  It will cause eyestrain and fatigue, though.  Make sure you look away from your screen for about 20 seconds every 20 minutes.  Set a timer or a reminder on the computer if you can't remember.  Also remember to blink often or use eye drops to keep your eyes lubricated.

For reading, maybe put some little notes in your book every 10 pages or so before you start reading that remind you to sit back.  Then as you're reading, you'll get some reminders to not lean in so close.

Also, once you are mature and responsible enough, contacts can be an option if you don't like wearing glasses.  Hope this helps!
