The cash-laden club from Paris will take on La Liga side, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Valencia-CF-c40864, in the first leg of knockout stages of the 2012/2013 Champions League and a very intense match is expected between the two sides.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Valencia-c40863 have abundance of European experience under their belt making them strong favourites but PSG have invested madly in the transfer market and the kind of players they have at their disposal makes them the team to beat in
the competition.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Ezequiel-Lavezzi-c13073, who was signed by the Ile giants at the start of this season, is expecting a stern test from the Spanish giants and has warned his teammates against taking them lightly. While talking to reporters, the forward
said that PSG can’t afford to make any mistakes and this match is very important for his side ahead of the return leg at Parc des Princes.
"We can't afford to make any mistakes," declared in-form striker Ezequiel Lavezzi in a pre-match press conference. "This match is important for the club; we need to make sure we come out of it in a good position ahead of the return
leg in Paris.”
The 27-year-old said that Les Parisiens need to step up to the challenge and they have to win this game to send a strong message out there. The Spanish side play free flowing football and PSG need to be at their best to stop them
from taking control of the game.
“Valencia will no doubt start strongly and we need to step up to the challenge."
Praising their upcoming opponents, Lavezzi said that Valencia are an experienced team who have a lot of Champions League experience under their belt. They will make things tough for the Ligue 1 leaders and it would be an interesting
encounter.
"Valencia are an excellent team who play outstanding football and who have experience of big European matches," continued Lavezzi ahead of the clash with the club that reached the final of the competition in 2000 and 2001.
