The Argentine international is desperate to help his team to a win in the game against Chelsea, and is hopeful of finding the back of the net at Stadio San Paolo.
Napoli will host Chelsea in first of the two-legged UEFA Champions League tie of the last 16 round on Tuesday, 21 February 2012.
Ezequiel Lavezzi played a huge role in his team’s qualification to the first knockout round, but the striker has still not found the back of the net in Europe. The 26-year-old wants to break his European goal duck against the Blues,
and wants to inspire his team to the next round.
The Argentine striker has been under scrutiny for his lack of goals in the recent matches, but he is not concerned with it. The striker insists that he is happy with his performances as long as the team is winning.
While talking to the reporters, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Ezequiel-Lavezzi-c13073 said,
“I hope to score, I really want to. I’ll just look to give my best. It’s true that I am lacking a few goals, but it is you journalists who are discussing it more than myself. I do the maximum for my team and it changes nothing
whether I score or don’t. It only affects you as a goal can be worth one or two more marks in the match rankings at the end of a game.”
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Napoli-c40003 favourites for the last 16 round tie against Andre Villas Boas’s men. However, Lavezzi has played down the favourites tag, and insists that the Blues have some experienced individual
within their ranks and they will come out all guns blazing.
“I don’t think we are favourites. Chelsea have great experience in the competition and we don’t. However, we are hungry to win and you can see that sometimes in our play.”
The Partenopei side made a timely return to form, as they come into this game on the back of an impressive 3-0 win over Fiorentina in the league recently. The Azzurri have pulled off some impressive results against Bayern Munich
and Manchester City in the Champions League.
