Atalanta winger, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Ezequiel-c13065 Schelotto, has urged his team to give A.C Milan a tough time when they meet them in their next league game.
The Nerazzurri will host the Italian Champions in the Matchday 17 encounter of the 2011/12 Serie A on Sunday, January 8th, 2011. Atalanta were handed a six point penalty by the Lega Calcio for their involvement in match
fixing. Despite that, they have had a dream start to their season, and are placed 11th in the league standings.
Schelotto has urged his teammates to continue their impressive run against the Italian Champions, and is hoping for a positive result. The Argentinean is confident that his team will maintain their unbeaten home record against
the current leaders.
The 22-year-old admitted that despite that the two teams having different objectives, his team will play their natural game and will press the opposition. The former Cesena star believes that despite being the underdogs for the
game, his team will have advantage of home conditions, and the backing of the fans.
While talking to the reporters, Schelotto said:
“Milan are a great team who are fighting for a different objective to us. We can’t afford to let them play their own game, we have to press them all of the time and give 100 per cent. It’ll certainly be a special game and because
we are playing at home we’ll be able to count on the support of our fans. Hopefully we’ll put in a great performance.”
The Rossoneri are currently joint-top in the Serie A standings, and they will be looking to collect maximum points from the game. The visitors are likely to welcome back veteran midfielder, Gennaro Gattuso, who has recovered from
an eye problem. Gattuso has missed the action for almost four months.
On the other hand, Milan’s title rivals, Juventus, will face Lecce the same day.
