  1. This is a good question and would have been a good fight.  Charles was an enormously talented fighter with power in both hands.  He is well known for giving Marciano his toughest fight going the full 15 rounds.  In many boxing circles he is considered as one of the most underrated fighters in hisotry not receibving the acclaim he rightly deserves.  Larry Holmes has one of the greatest jabs in boxing history and came within one fight of tying Marciano's record.  Holmes is the bigger fighter here with a definite reach advantage.  During the early rounds the smaller Charles would look to come inside of Holmes jab to land combinations having to eat a few punches on the way in.  This would be a fierce fight of two proud warriors.  Even though Holmes is bigger, they are pretty equal in the power and speed department with the main difference being Holmes great jab.  This fight would have some momentum shifts throughout and be a lot like the Holmes vs Norton fight with excitement and drama.  Holmes would win a close but unanimous decision in a great fight.

  2. I am going to go ahead and beat toughguy to this one.  Charles builds up a pretty good lead on points but like the first Marciano fight lets it slip away.  I have Holmes taking a close decision and winning 9 rounds to 6

  3. Great fight.... I think Charles gives Holmes all the trouble he can handle for maybe 5 or 6 rounds but Holmes gradually finds the range with the jab and starts catching Charles at will late on winning by TKO in the 14th

  4. Great Fight for so many reasons.

Charles is skilled and busy enough to push even a prime Larry Holmes.  Even though size isnt always the telling factor, Holmes is big enough to make it matter.

Charles can beat many ''Holmes sized'' heavyweights.  Holmes isnt really that big, compared to guys like Lewis and Klitschko.  Against Charles, Holmes would come in around 212lbs.  Charles would be around 190.  He will not sacrifice speed but he would enjoy the slight gain in power.

Charles would keep Holmes busy in the early rounds.  However,  Holmes is resorceful enough to be the one who controls the pace in the middle and late rounds.  Ezzard may very well jump to an early lead.  Holmes would close the gap in the middle rounds.

Holmes would shake Charles late in the fight but Ezzard would remain upright.  He's hurt but Holmes is unable to put him away.  Ezzard, is game but comes up a bit short.

    Holmes by decision in 15

  5. It'd be an intresting bout. Charles suffered alot of losses well Holmes came toward the end. Holmes has 3'' and a 13'' reach advantage and he picks away w/the jab before landing a big KO9
