Jones, only because he is quicker.  EC would have a punchers chance, but that would be about it.

It would take a perfect punch (i.e. Tarver's 2nd round KO) for EC to win.  Other than that, Jones is much quicker would work him over and KO him in the 8th or so.

Ezzard Charles in my opinion is the better overall fighter and boxer here.  Although he did not have the handspeed of Jones Jr., he certainly was not slow and would have tagged Jones Jr.  Charles beat Archie Moore 3 times, beat Jersey Joe Walcott twice, and gave Marciano all he wanted in two fights.  He had a lot of heart, skill and determination and may be the most underrated fighter in history.  It would be a close fight for the first 7-8 rounds with neither man having a decided advantage.  In the latter rounds Charles would have a little more endurance and would start landing the more telling punches.  Charles by unanimous decision in a good fight.

Charles had twice the amount of fights that Roy had. Charles was a better boxer than Roy even though he didn't have the speed that Roy has. Roy is an excellent, if unorthodox boxer, but by now he knows that he has a weak chin (and because of his blistering speed, no fundamental defence), and he stays away from Ezzard, using his footsppeed, reflexes, counterpunching and body punching (particularly the right hook) to deter Ezzard. I have Jones winning a 15 rd split decision.

At light heavy weight before Ezzard Charles got old he would have killed Roy Jones Jr.knowing what we all know now about Jones getting caught with a good punch by a hard puncher . It,s hard for me to say that because I think Jones is the best fighter to ever live. Maybe I should say the most talented. Remember before Traver and Johnson caught Roy he never had a hard fight. And the Olympic comity should give Roy his Gold Medal
