f-22 are newer and much more advanced, but is it possible that one f-22 can easily takeout up to 5 f-15's or is it that someone has been watching TRANSFORMERS.

  1. Pretty much yes.

The F22, from the sources I've heard. is virtually invisible to radar. The other airplanes don't have a chance. They look for it, can't find it. Then when the f22 engages, it is able to engage multiple targets and get them all.

Glad it's ours. Same with the B2.

  2. in theory, with AWACS support, its supposed to "engage multiple air targets in a high threat environment" -Jane's

Jane's is a pretty reputable source.

However, practically, USAF is never going to send one F-22 out. Buddy system is very necessary. At least 2 F-22s.

Not only F-22 can takeout many targets, F-16, F-18, F-15, and most 4th gen + fighters all can take out multiple targets. AIM-120 AMRAAMS, AIM9X 'winders, and the new AAAM are all fire and forget.  So, if you're lucky, and/or the enemy has no radar warning receiver you can splash them all BVR.

Usually, you'll want to launch a medium range AAM to keep them occupied and then increase closure rate with the burners, so if the bogey did evade your first, you can send him to h**l with another slammer, 'winder or even guns.

  3. in fact it is true. pilots who have transitioned over to the F22 have practiced flying against F15's where the F15 has superior numbers, and have come out on top every time. in fact the F15 pilots have commented that they were shot down before they even knew that they were targeted.

  4. My friend is a F-22 pilot and from his description its the best jet in the world. Yes it can lock onto multiple objects and fired simultaneously thanks to its computer system. It can lock onto targets ranges 4th generation planes dream of having.Remember its been under development since the 70s and put threw tons of upgrades as new technology has been coming out.

  5. Nope, that's from exercises involving the two aircraft.  Of course we won't know just how good either aircraft is---the US military doesn't stay ahead by publishing books with detailed explanations of every strength, weakness, and capability of our weapons.
