Fédération Internationale d'Escrime: The International Federation for Fencing
The International Federation of Fencing, Fédération Internationale d'Escrime (FIE) is a international non-profit organization to govern the sport of Fencing globally.
FIE is responsible for conducting tournaments for the Fencing Game, conducting the Fencing World Cup tournaments, World Championship titles and setting the disputes of the national federations. All the International fencing competitions are organised by
FIE.
FIE was established on November 29, 1913 in Paris, France and now its head-office is located in Lausanne, Switzerland. The current president of FIE is Alisher Usmanov, Russia’s richest man, who is the 100th world’s richest persons. He spent a
lot in fencing programs and for the development of Fencing Sport around the sphere. Paramonov Maxim from Ukraine is the Secretary General of FIE. The Representatives of Executive Committee and Vice- Presidents are Pascu (MH) Ana, SCARSO Giorgio and WANG Wei.
According to recently made statues of FIE, the aim of International Fencing Federation are as follow:
To promote the fencing sport all the way through the world by setting a long-term relationships among respective associations of the all countries and to nurture the perfection of practice of fencing sport each way.
To maintain check and balance in the international competitions that are being conducted according to the FIE rules and regulations.
To set up the Open World Championships, the Junior, Cadet and Veteran World Championships among the all foundations.
To approve and control the other official competitions.
To assure that the penalties like suspensions, ineligibilities and removals by one of the member of associations are appreciated in international competitions.
To study and do legislations on all issues concerning fencing international relations.
To encourage and enlarge the effort against doping.
To arrange the fencing at Olympic Games, in connection with the International Olympic Committee.
To encourage the code of non-discrimination on the ground of race, gender, civilization, religion, family status or other.
Many types of Fencing competitions are conducted by FIE that include major events like Olympic Fencing Games, International Fencing Championships, Fencing World Cup and other competitions like Open, Junior, Cadet, Veteran World Championships and Junior World
Cup. In Olympic Games or any other competitions, six types of fencing events are elected by the Congress of FIE.
FIE also approves or rejects the items used in the game of Fencing. If any type of equipment provides the greater level of safety, strength, satisfaction over other status of protecting gear and equipment otherwise rejects it. All the uniforms, masks, blades,
gloves and other fencing equipment must be approved by FIE for use in international competitions.
FIE also maintains and updates the records of all the events held in a year, all the medals holder, highest achievers and the entire main incident in history.
