Fédération Internationale d'Escrime reveals 2010-11 Individual Fencers’ rankings list – Fencing News
The International Fencing Federation, Fédération Internationale d'Escrime, has updated the 2010-11 ranking list on April 3, 2011. All fencers are ranked on the basis of points they secured in the Fencing World Cup until April 1, 2011. Each Fencing World Cup that will take place after April 1 is valid for qualification in the 2012 London Olympics.
The ranking is categorised on the basis of Foil, Epee and Sabre in both the Men’s and Women’s category. The top five fencers’ list for 2010-11 is as follows:
Men's Foil Individual:
1. Sheng Lei from China with 242 points
2. Yuki Ota from Japan with 210 points
3. Miles Chamley-Watson from United States with 192 points
4. Valerio Aspromonte from Italy with 178 points
5. Byung Chul Choi from Korea with 152 points
Women's Foil Individual:
1. Valentina Vezzali from Italy with 364 points
2. Hyun Hee Nam from Korea with 278 points
3. Elisa Di Francisca from Italy with 269 points
4. Arianna Errigo from Italy with 244 points
5. Hee Sook Jeon from Korea with 174 points
Men’s Epee Individual:
1. Gauthier Grumier from France with 208 points
2. Gabor Boczko from Hungary with 189 points
3. Jean-Michel Lucenay from France with 177 points
4. Joerg Fiedler from Germany with 167 points
5. Weston Kelsey from United States with 156 points
Women’s Epee Individual:
1. Magdalena Piekarska from Poland with 244 points
