The Manchester City defender will serve a full four match ban following his red card against Manchester United in their F.A Cup tie...
Vincent Kompany, Manchester City’s captain and their central defender who was sent off against Manchester United just 10 minutes into the match at the Etihad stadium has now been told by the Football Association that he is to serve
full four matches of ban.
After Manchester City’s loss to Manchester United in the F.A Cup, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Roberto-c31294 Mancini took the decision to appeal against Kompany’s red card in order to provide himself some relief as there appears to be a shortage of experienced
central defenders at the Etihad stadium especially after Kompany’s sending off and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Kolo-c21278 Toure’s international commitments in the African Cup of nations with Ivory Coast.
Mancini also contended that the decision to send off Kompany was not a fair one as the referee was influenced by Manchester United’s striker Wayne Rooney who pushed the referee into making a wrong decision. After the F.A Cup match
between the two Manchester rivals, a war of words has taken place between Sir http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Alex-c4752 Ferguson and Mancini.
F.A said in their statement following City’s appeal against Kompany’s red card, "An Independent Regulatory Commission has today [Tuesday 10 January] dismissed a claim of wrongful dismissal from Manchester City's http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Vincent-Kompany-c36184
following his red card for Serious Foul Play in The FA Cup Third Round tie between Manchester City v Manchester United on 8 January 2012. Kompany will serve a four-match suspension with immediate effect. The suspension consists of a statutory three-match suspension
for Serious Foul Play plus one additional game given this is Kompany's second dismissal of the season."
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Mancini-c23323 also voiced his opinion early on Tuesday as he said, "My opinion has not changed. I am confident because Vinny only played 10 minutes. He was sent off for nothing. He has already missed one game. I don't think about this
(being banned). It would be not correct if that happened. I joked with http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Nani-c27299 was there. He didn't say anything."
