Hi, well basically im 21 soon to be 22 and next year will be all being well my final year of Uni and I would love to work in F1 ideally however when I have rung up people like Williams they are basically no help and were very abrupt on the phone just saying no and putting the phone down which was quite annoying

but anyway is there a proper site for apprenterships in F1 or GP2 or just motorsport in general as the main problems I have are that -

1) Im from the north of england in yorkshire so the nearest team to me is Red Bull which is still quite a way away so I dont get to read local adverts

2) Im studying business which narrows my chances a lot I know but apart from music motorsport is my number 1 passion and has been since I was little watching Schumi

Im up for any motorsport to be honest however F1/GP2 would be living the dream =)

I do have language and managment skills to offer as well but

can anyone give any help or advice would be appreciated - thanks =)

  1. As far as I am aware F1 teams use head hunters. My brother works for McLaren and he got his job this way. He previously worked for British Aerospace, so it may be worth looking into this form of engineering first.

  2. As the above said, F1 teams seem to hire in specific areas. Check out motor sport magazines and papers as I have seen F1 teams advertising jobs in them in the past.

I guess it all depends on what you're studying at Uni. Most adverts I've seen in the magazines have been for the likes of carbon fibre mould makers and fabricators and the like.

have a look around and just apply for the jobs you find. If one lands you with an interview then at least you can get your name noticed and sell yourself.

    Good luck!

  3. erectile dysfunction in mencan lead to heart problems including spontaneus combustion, so no, dont go into motorsports

  4. F1 teams are always hiring people in certain areas so you can check the ads and send you CV where applicable.

That's how it usually works, you don't ring them and say you want a job.

They probably won't hire you either way because your CV should contain some previous experience acquired in your line of job.

Even though that may sound like a catch 22 situation, it actually isn't because when looking for a job, it makes sense to start at the beginning and take it one step at a time, the competition at the top is understandably hard.

EDIT: Oh windwilly, I forgot about you.

Since my sexual functionality appears to be within acceptable limits, it's not possible to speculate what effect my involvement in motosport has had on my erections so far.

I can however testify to the effect it has on my wife's functionality judging by her reaction whenever I show up on Sunday evening carrying a chequered flag.

  5. Generally to be a Engineer in F1 or any Motorsport, you would have to have read Engineering
