F1 News: Force India driver Tonio Liuzzi retires out of the Brazilian Grand Prix
Force India driver Vitantonio "Tonio" Liuzzi retired out of the Brazilian Grand Prix this weekend after he qualified in 16th place and was going pretty well before he crashed out of the race in the 52nd lap
of the race.
Force India has been struggling to perform this year but they have been able to produce a driver like Adrian Sutil, as he has been great this season keeping in mind that he is not driving one of the best cars the sport has to offer.
Adrian Sutil was not able to out-qualify his teammate at Interlagos during the qualifying session, though, as he was struggling vitally after he received a five grid penalty and since he qualified in 17th place, he was forced to start in the 22nd place
and therefore, the Brazilian Grand Prix was a disaster for team Force India.
The team is now in 7th place after this race as they lost their 6th
place spot to Williams, as Nico Hulkenberg was able to score 3 vital points for his team after a 6th place finish.
Rubens Barrichello was looking pretty decent in the beginning of the race as well, but due to some problems in the pits, he was unable to finish in the points.
Vitantonio Liuzzi was the only driver to crash in the Brazilian Grand Prix and it seemed that he had a little bit of under steer before going into turn 2 of the 52nd lap before he hit the side wall. Since his car crashed
into the wall, a lot of debris reflected from the sidewall on to the track that caused the first and only safety car period of the car race.
However, it seems that Force India and Williams will have a battle of their own at the final race that is set to take place at Abu Dhabi next weekend. Adrian Sutil is currently in 10th place tied with Williams’ Rubens
Barrichello with 47 points while Tonio Liuzzi is currently in 14th place with 21 points.
