F1 Red Bull Rb6 Is Not A Silver Bullet

There had been a lot of hype of the technical advancements that the Red Bull Racing had brought to their car. All the drivers, the teams as well as the Formula one fans are looking up to witness some miraculous racing by the team at Silverstone as it is thought that the RB6 is the fastest and technically most advanced car of the season.

The Red Bull previously this season at the Valencia Circuit, Spain was able to show a good race, as the team driver Sebastian Vettel was able to win the race. However, the team was not able to take their lead at the Constrictors’ Championship back owing to the mishap with the other team driver, Mark Webber. Webber met a horrifying accident as he was hit by the Lotus driver Heikki Kovalainen, following which he had to retire from the race. Webber’s car performed a complete somersault in the air before it landed hitting the tyre wall, though luckily the driver came out unhurt. Whereas the other Red Bull driver, Sebastian Vettel ended the race at first place adding twenty five points to the teams’ Standings.

However, as the Formula One caravan heads toward Silverstone for this week’s race the Red Bull team principal, Christian Horner has explained to the Red Bull rivals that the exhaust system that they have implanted in their “RB6 car is not a silver bullet”. He said that of course it has its benefits but expecting that it would be doing miracles on the track is exaggeration of the system.

At the Turkish Grand Prix the Red Bull announced for the first time that they would be using their advanced system called 'blown rear diffuser'. However, it was used in the practice session but they refrained to use it on the final day of the race owing to some adjustments that were yet to be done. Later in Valencia it was again utilised after further up gradation.

In Valencia, at the European Grand Prix, Ferrari, Mercedes and Renault also introduced their so-called 'blown rear diffusers' and evidently not all the teams were able to be benefited by it equally.

Now in this weekend’s race the current chart topper, McLaren has announced to run their upgraded car at Silverstone, the home land of both the McLaren drivers.

Well, before the weekend’s races begin Red Bull’s team boss Horner came forward to put down some of the rumours that the rivals are spreading about the team’s improved car. He told the Germany's Auto Motor und Sport, the automobile magazine that the rivals are overestimating the benefits of the blown diffuser. "It's only about two or three tenths," further told the Briton.

The team's German driver Sebastian Vettel also agreed with him and told that though the car plays a vital role in the race but it is actually the driver who pulls the best out of it. He added that RB6 surely gives them an upper hand on other teams but it has to come together with the whole package in which the Red Bull’s rear suspension is also included. He further went on to say that if a team is copying there version and not using the suspension it would be useless for them.

Well, it had been reported that the blown diffuser, that McLaren's would be using in Silverstone includes the complete technology with their new cooling, suspension and dampers.

The race of technology and advancement is one of the key factors of Formula One, let’s see who would be able to get the best car and of course the best out of the car this weekend at Silverstone.
