F1 Red Bull fast and furious in Friday’s second practice
The Red Bull proved it once again. Friday’s second practice saw the team fast and furious on the tricky track of Singapore.
Sebastian Vettel and Mark Webber, the two Red Bull men dominated the Marina Bay Track in both practice sessions but especially as the cars were out for the second time they seemed fleeing under the flood lights.
In Singapore’s night practice Vettel left all behind him, marking the fastest lap of the night in his roaring RB6 with just 1m 46.660s while his teammate was 0.627s slower than him, setting his lap in 1m 47.287s. The team has been tagged for possessing
the fastest cars of the season right from the beginning, demonstrating their dominance on the track.
McLaren came next to them but the gap was huge. Jenson Button, the title-defender settled his second practice for his best lap of 1m 47.690s. However, practice sessions are not Button’s strength since long, therefore one may not predict anything about him
seeing his Friday’s pace. He had always performed far better at the race days than on practices or qualifying. Moreover, the team has also made some significant changes in the package for the Singapore race, and these sessions are much of a test for them for
these updates.
Another surprise on the practices was Ferrari’s Fernando Alonso, who wrapped his best in 1:47.718; being fourth on the tally though he was expected to perform even better. Nonetheless, the second practice proved merciful than what he illustrated earlier
in the first session. He could have ended even better but lost pace at Turn 18 after having a poor exit from Turn 17.
Lewis Hamilton, in the second McLaren ended at fifth place on 1m 47.818s doing far better than his earlier session. Rubens Barrichello followed his tail for sixth position in his Williams making in 1m 48.302s, chased by the second Ferrari of Felipe Massa
who ended his day in 1m 48.341s.
The track is considered to be a lucky one for Mercedes GP driver, Nico Rosberg. His first practice did not go very well, however, he occupied eighth place in the second, packing up on 1m 48.679s.
Robert Kubica settled at ninth place with 1m 48.855s for Renault, while his teammate Vitaly Petrov hardly made up for fourteenth place in 1:49.608.
Another ‘not a great day’ was seen by Mercedes GP’s Michael Schumacher as he finished his practice at tenth place after thirty one laps, with 1m 48.889s being his best. Standing next to him was Nico Hulkenberg who made his best in 1m 49.153s for Williams
followed by the two BMW Saubers’ drivers Kamui Kobayashi and Nick Heidfeld with 1m 49.438s and 1m 49.558s respectively.
The Force India’s pair settled together for fifteenth and sixteenth place as Vitantonio Liuzzi made in 1m 49.896s and Adrin Sutil in 1m 49.896s.

The Toro Rosso’s couple Jaime Alguersuari and Sebastien Buemi placed themselves at seventeenth and eighteen places with 1m 50.191s and 1m 50.896s, whereas Heikki Kovalainen in his Lotus stood ahead of all other rookie teams in 1m 51.878s at nineteenth place.
Timo Glock ended before his teammate Lucas di Grassi as the two Virgin drivers called the day in 1m 52.150s and 1m 53.431s successively.

The twenty second place was occupied by Jarno Trulli in his Lotus in 1m 53.526s, while the last two slots were filled by Bruno Senna and his teammate Christian Klien in a time span of 1m 54.725s and 1m 55.542s one after the other.
Though no major incident took place on the track, however, more incidents owing to poor racing by Adrian Sutil of Force and India and Fernando Alonso on Ferrari were seen at the second practice.
