F1 Student Visa for part-time study in US?

Is it possible to get a student visa to study part-time in the United States? Or do you have to be a full-time student to be granted a student visa? For instance, if you just wanted to take a few courses or you wanted to do a part-time program in the evenings.

It is not possible to be a part-time student on an F-1 Visa. The student can stay in the United States for as long as he/she is enrolled in school. The student visa is normally issued at a U.S. Embassy or Consulate in the student’s home country.
