F1 Top 5 Driver reviews after Spa
The race at Spa-Francorchamps had been a strange one for this part of the year. Before the teams headed for this round, race lovers went crazy with their expectations, predictions and their bets. However, none had thought it would leave three of the top five drivers pointless.
The top five slots are still being occupied by the same five drivers, yet the chances and expectations had completely changed.
Hamilton pushes his title’s hopes deeper
Hamilton arrival in Formula 1 was announced with drums and trumpets. During his first season, Hamiltion the rookie finished in second place in the Drivers’ Championship.
He could have even won the title if he was not destined to lose a few points at the 2007 Chinese Grand Prix, which tore the title away from him.
However, the aggressive young man did not forget his target and was able to grab it next year and now once again he is all set to win another title.
The summer break had been a tough one for the racer as he lost his top place just a day before, but it seemed to strengthen Hamilton’s resolve, as the racer claimed a race victory right after returning from the break.
Webber as dangerous as an injured lion
These days Red Bull driver, Mark Webber is not any less dangerous and aggressive than an injured lion. At the Turkish Grand Prix both Red Bull teammates crashed into each other owing to their enmity, which cost Webber his top position whereas later the same enmity helped him bag victory at Silverstone. After his team handed his car’s front wing to his teammate, making the Australian win the race in a do or die manner.
Once again Webber had been injured and this time it was Hamilton, who snatched top place from him for the second time this season. Let’s see what this brings out of Webber at the legendary track of Monza.
Vettel drowned taking Button along
Well, that’s what apparently happened but this is not very true. The chances of both are still very high. All their vital signs are still showing stable.
Sebastian Vettel of Red Bull, who had been immensely criticised for his poor driving after the Belgian Grand Prix, still stands at third place of the Drivers’ Championship. He has one of the fastest cars of the season and not to forget he has shown some brilliant races and qualifying this season, so one can expect anything from him any time.
It’s  true that Jenson Button’s chances have dimmed a bit yet the fact remains that McLaren’s car is supposed to suit the track better than Red Bull’s so that may make a difference.
Moreover, one needs to think again if McLaren, as they had always claimed, would really support Button just as much as Hamilton, who is in a far better position for the title?
Alonso Pays Price for being short on luck
It has been one frustrating season after the other for Ferrari, and it might become the root cause of their demise.
Fernando Alonso of Ferrari has undoubtedly shown great racing all through the season yet winning demands more than just great racing. Ask Hamilton if you don’t believe that luck is also essential.
Alonso might not be blamed as Rubens Barrichello speared into his Ferrari’s side at Spa. But his hard luck all through the season has dimmed his hopes for the title despite all his hard work.
