F1 news: Ferrari upgrades its car for night battle in Singapore
Ferrari is ready to do all it can to snatch away every single point in the upcoming, grand night event. This time the team has worked on its aerodynamic system along with upgrading the front wing and floor of its F10.
The Italian team is very motivated and hopeful for another great finish this weekend as well, just like they had at the last round in Monza. As they prepare for the fifteenth race of the season scheduled to be showcased at the tricky track of Singapore,
they are aiming to get a one–two finish for the team.
As Ferrari comes out of the Italian Grand Prix, the team’s home racing circuit, they spell even more confidence and motivation. The weekend at Monza had been a great treat for the team, as they added another big bunch of forty points to their already huge
points bank of the season. The Spanish team driver, Fernando Alonso finished at first position, whereas Felipe Massa stood third on the podium. Alonso’s first place finish has granted him a total of one hundred and sixty six points, thus closing his gap for
the top position, though still he stands twenty one points behind the charts’ topper Mark Webber in the Drivers' Championship.
Now as the season is to witness only five more races, Ferrari has pronounced that they would keep on fighting until the last race at Abu Dhabi, as they have full confidence in their potential and their chances of grabbing victory.
Before moving for the night race of Singapore, they have announced several updates to their already very competitive, F10.
The team principal Stefano Domenicali, while talking to the media declared, "With both Championships still very much open, Scuderia Ferrari has not abandoned development of the F10 and for the fifteenth round of the World Championship, the cars will line
up with modifications mainly on the aerodynamic side, with updates to the front wing and the floor."
He continued on saying that he is determined not to make any mistakes, as the one made in Spa cost them heavily. At Spa, during the Belgian Grand Prix Alonso had to retire from the race pointless, after facing an accident which badly hurt his chances for
the championship.
"We aim to avoid a repeat of what happened in Belgium, where our planned new development failed to provide us with the leap in quality we expected because we hadn't been able to test out the new trim," Domenicali said. He added, "It is impossible to predict
what will happen because there are so many variables at play."
However, Domenicali also insisted that despite being a very crucial race, this weekend in Singapore would not be 'decisive' in terms of the ‘Title’.
He explained saying that the top five drivers are so closely entangled in the tug that predicting anything at this moment is simply not possible. He further added that even the next race could not be called ‘decisive’ one though that would also be very important.
"This year's Championship clearly looks like as if it will be open right to the very end,” the team Principal suggested.
The points system has altered this year in Formula One, for which Domenicali believes that it certainly suits them in the kind of situation the teams are stuck in this year, with only a difference of twenty four points among the top five drivers.
However, each of the last five races demand a lot of consistency now. Only the driver who would be able to keep earring points in all these races would be able to stand firm till the end, and that this what Ferrari is focusing on right now.
